Speaking of science fiction nightmares. Blue Whale is an alleged suicide challenge that kids across the world are taking up. The game, invented in Russia, ups the ante over the course of 50 days from selfmutilation to suicide. Philipp Budeikin, who claims he invented the game, is currently in prison in St Petersburg. Some 130 young people in Russia are said to have killed themselves playing the game. Blue Whale has been blamed for the suicide of a 14-yearold in Mumbai on July 30, though police say there is no proof to support the claim.
