The AIADMK Returns
This Independence Day could well mean freedom from squabbles for the AIADMK. A few of its MPs are set to enter PM Modi’s cabinet in a major reshuffle reportedly scheduled after August 15. The move is to shore up the NDA ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, but will also see Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami heave a sigh of relief. Fewer squabbling leaders will mean he can at last focus on governance, which has taken a back seat since the demise late last year of CM and party supremo J. Jayalalithaa.
