Pilot managed to get Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi to tour flood-hit areas of the state, wrote to the prime minister to release aid, highlighted farmers’ suicides and managed to get some MLAs who had pledged support to BJP presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind to vote for Congress candidate Meira Kumar.
