CSI holds its annual conference ‘IT2020’ at IIT Mumbai
The Computer Society of India (CSI), Mumbai Chapter along with UBM India hosted IT2020, its flagship event at VMCC, IIT Mumbai on February, 27 and 28, 2014. The theme for the event was ‘ Technology - Now Delivering Value.’ Keeping with evolving trends in technology, the conference was made up of six tracks: Harvesting Big Data, IT for business excellence, governance, risk and compliance, leveraging mobile computing, cloud computing and education.
The conference aimed at offering several advantages to all IT stakeholders. According to the organizers, corporates could hope to leverage cutting- edge IT industry trends and gain industry specific expertise, apart from having the opportunity to develop their professional networks. For students, the conference offered participation certificates that would help them in their careers.
The conference boasted of a galaxy of industry and academia stalwarts addressing various tracks.
Rajesh Aggarwal, IAS Secretary, Government of Maharashtra was the keynote speaker. Other notable speakers included Dr. Deepak Phatak, (Recipient of Padma Shri) IIT Bombay; Prashun Datta, CIO, Tata Power; Dr. A.K. Hirve CGM, IT Dept, RBI; and other industry leaders from various segments.
Dilip Ganeriwal, Chairman, CSI – Mumbai Chapter said, “This conference addressed the needs of IT professionals, students and industry, enabling all stakeholders to get more from their IT investments. The conference was envisioned to set IT roadmap ahead till 2020.”

The Computer Society of India (CSI) was established in 1965 and has contributed in guiding Indian IT industry since then. CSI has 72 chapters, more than 500 student branches and more than 100,000 members, including famous IT industry leaders, scientists and academicians.
The Mumbai chapter is one of the leading chapters of the Computer Society of India (CSI). The chapter is the epicentre of host of activities conducted for its members. CSI-Mumbai conducts technical and non-technical professional courses and focuses on career enhancement and knowledge sharing among IT professionals.
