The EMBRYOSCOPE is a special type of incubator which can take time lapse images of the embryos. So the embryo development is closely monitored throughout its development.

Since it takes images at intervals of 20 minutes we do not have to remove the embryos from the incubator till transfer time. Thus the embryo is protected from variations in temperature and co2 and O2 concentrations. The embryoviewer software helps us to study the developmental pattern of each embryo and helps us in selecting the best embryo for transfer. Though it takes frequent images the total light exposure is less than 50 sec per day per embryo. It has HEPA and VOC filters for purification of gases. It is provided with alarm system to indicate any changes in temperature, co2 concentration and pressure, O2 concentration and pressure.

Improved embryo selection is possible based on the kinetic analysis of time-lapse images of embryo development thus improving the pregnancy and take home baby rate and decreasing the miscarriage rates. Pregnancy rates are increased by 10-12%.
