Eye on polls, BJP aims to reach out to 22 cr people in 3 months
THE (BJP) has begun preparing roadmap for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The party has set a target of reaching out to 22 crore people in the next three months. Addressing the national executive meeting of all seven wings of the party, PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah stressed on connecting to all marginalized sections of the society ahead of the elections.
This, sources said, aimed at rejecting the opposition’s charges of the BJP being anti-Dalit, antiminority, anti-farmers and anti-women. The two leaders also asked the heads of these cells to address the grievances of people and also seek their suggestions so that the party could find ways to address them.
This is the first such meeting where Modi and Shah addressed the national executive of all seven wings of the BJP. A senior party leader said the exercise would help BJP tone up its organisational structure in run up to the next Lok Sabha polls. The meeting was attended by national executive members of the party's Mahila Morcha, Minority Morcha, SC and ST Morcha, Yuva Morcha, Kisan Morcha, and OBC Morcha. Earlier on Monday, Shah held a meeting with all BJP state chiefs.
