India beat Malaysia 3-2 in league stage
DEFENDING champions India on Thursday breezed into the summit clash of the women’s Asian Champions Trophy after edging past Malaysia 3-2, their third consecutive victory. India, who beat Japan 4-1 and China 3-1 in their previous matches, qualified for the final with a match in hand in their pool. They are sitting atop the table with nine points and will next take on hosts Korea in their final pool match on Saturday before Sunday’s final. Gurjit Kaur, Vandana Katariya (in pic) & Lalremsiami sounded the board for India.
TOP international stars like Australians Alyssa Healy and Meg Lanning will be seen in action in the upcoming one-off Women’s T20 Challenge match to be played on May 22 ahead of the IPL Qualifier 1 in Mumbai. The contest will see India Women’s T20 vice-captain Smriti Mandhana-led IPL Trailblazers compete against IPL Supernovas, to be captained by Harmanpreet Kaur. The one-of-itskind match will feature 26 players including 10 international stars from Australia, England and New Zealand.
