MOL to par­tic­i­pate in LNG ter­mi­nal in Gu­jarat

Mit­sui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) signed an agree­ment with Swan LNG Pvt Ltd for the long-term op­er­a­tion/main­te­nance of a FSRU that will serve as the core re­ceiv­ing fa­cil­i­ties in an LNG ter­mi­nal to be de­vel­oped by Swan En­ergy in Jafrabad, Gu­jarat. The FSRU will be owned by Swan En­ergy through its sub­sidiary, and MOL has the op­tion to par­tic­i­pate in its joint own­er­ship. The op­tion is ex­er­cis­able any time be­fore the de­liv­ery of the FSRU at ship­yard. MOL will in­vest in Swan LNG and par­tic­i­pate in many facets of the project as tech­ni­cal part­ner. The ter­mi­nal, hav­ing LNG re­ceiv­ing ca­pac­ity of 5 mil­lion tonnes a year, is slated to start op­er­a­tion in early 2020.
