Essar Ports to up capacity utilisation
Essar Ports is looking to increase its capacity utilisation at Hazira, Paradip and Visakhapatnam ports, and at Salaya in Gujarat, a new port it commissioned in December. It will also begin construction of a facility in Mozambique this year. Essar aims to attain a total capacity of around 110 million tonnes (mt) this year. The company’s project at Salaya port, with 20 mt capacity, has been completed. It will handle coal, coke, limestone, bauxite and is also looking to have a liquid cargo handling jetty. The company expects to handle 8-10 mt of cargo at the facility over the next year.
