Es­sar Ports to up ca­pac­ity util­i­sa­tion

Es­sar Ports is look­ing to in­crease its ca­pac­ity util­i­sa­tion at Hazira, Paradip and Visakha­p­at­nam ports, and at Salaya in Gu­jarat, a new port it com­mis­sioned in De­cem­ber. It will also be­gin con­struc­tion of a fa­cil­ity in Mozam­bique this year. Es­sar aims to at­tain a to­tal ca­pac­ity of around 110 mil­lion tonnes (mt) this year. The com­pany’s project at Salaya port, with 20 mt ca­pac­ity, has been com­pleted. It will handle coal, coke, lime­stone, baux­ite and is also look­ing to have a liq­uid cargo han­dling jetty. The com­pany ex­pects to handle 8-10 mt of cargo at the fa­cil­ity over the next year.
