NEW APP HELPS VISITORS EXPLORE HERITAGE OF RAJASTHAN
A new mobile app is set to help locals and travellers gain access the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan. Rajasthan Tourism has collaborated with two IITians to unveil TripMyWay, which focuses on creating self-guided in-trip audio and visual guides for visitors to the state. The app is powered by IthakaTales, a start-up founded by engineers from Indian Institute of Technology, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and NYU Stern, who have returned to India. The content is GPS enabled in various multimedia formats. There is also an offline mode for users to download audio tours and bookmark their favourite places. Around 12 cities and 150 points of interest in Rajasthan are already on the app, including Amer Fort and Pushkar, and more cities and sights will be added each week.
