Michael Kwon has been ap­pointed as the new Di­rec­tor of Korea Tourism Or­gan­i­sa­tion, In­dia Of­fice. He will be head­ing the In­dia of­fice for next three years. Pre­vi­ously work­ing as the Di­rec­tor of In­ter­na­tional Tourism Strat­egy team at Korea Tourism Or­gan­i­sa­tion head of­fice, he has all-round ex­po­sure across dif­fer­ent ver­ti­cals of KTO like HR, Plan­ning & Co­or­di­na­tion, In­bound Mar­ket­ing & Per­for­mance Eval­u­a­tion. Kwon has been as­so­ci­ated with KTO for 25 years. He is also a cer­ti­fied Pub­lic La­bor At­tor­ney in Korea.

Geeta Jain has moved to the po­si­tion of Strate­gic Pro­gramme Vice Pres­i­dent from her pre­vi­ous role as CEO at Carl­son Wagonlit Travel (CWT). Jain has also held the post of COO of CWT In­dia in the past. She has a suc­cess­ful in­ter­na­tional track record of over 18 years in var­i­ous in­dus­tries, in­clud­ing se­nior man­age­ment po­si­tions at Amer­i­can Ex­press In­dia. She holds a Bach­e­lor’s de­gree in Math­e­mat­ics and So­cial Sciences from Pun­jab Univer­sity and a Post Grad­u­ate de­gree in man­age­ment from the IIM Ahmed­abad.

De­bashish Bhowmik has been ap­pointed as Se­nior Vice Pres­i­dent for ho­tel Clarks Shi­raz, Agra. Bhowmik has 30+ years of rich ex­pe­ri­ence in the hos­pi­tal­ity in­dus­try, with ma­jor ho­tel groups out of which his as­so­ci­a­tion with Clarks groups of ho­tels has been 14 long years. He re­turns af­ter be­ing as­so­ci­ated with an aca­demic man­age­ment com­pany as Head of their Mel­bourne unit in Aus­tralia. He will be re­spon­si­ble for tak­ing a fully ren­o­vated and new look ho­tel Clarks Shi­raz, Agra, through his strong acu­men in Ho­tel Op­er­a­tions, Busi­ness De­vel­op­ment and Re­la­tion­ship Man­age­ment.

The Rezi­dor Ho­tel Group has an­nounced the ap­point­ment of Chema Baster­rechea as Ex­ec­u­tive Vice Pres­i­dent & Chief Op­er­at­ing Of­fi­cer (COO). Chema Baster­rechea has been Chief Op­er­at­ing Of­fi­cer at NH Ho­tel Group, prior to his ap­point­ment with Rezi­dor. Chema has worked for NHHG for more than 23 years, as Chief Op­er­at­ing Of­fi­cer, Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor of dif­fer­ent Busi­ness Units, Se­nior Vice Pres­i­dent Food & Bev­er­age, Di­rec­tor of In­te­gra­tion, Merger In­te­gra­tion Of­fi­cer and Gen­eral Man­ager. He will also iden­tify new mar­ket seg­ments and help ex­pand the ex­ist­ing cus­tomer base of the ho­tel group.

Vishal Sinha Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer CWT In­dia

Carl­son Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has ap­pointed Vishal Sinha as Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer of CWT In­dia. Re­port­ing to Kai Chan, CWT’s Pres­i­dent for Asia Pa­cific, Sinha will be a mem­ber of CWT’s Asia Pa­cific lead­er­ship team. He has more than 20 years of ex­pe­ri­ence in the travel in­dus­try. Most re­cently, he was the Chief Op­er­at­ing Of­fi­cer of TUI In­dia. He has also worked with Bri­tish Air­ways in In­dia, the UAE, Hong Kong and China. Sinha holds a Master of Arts de­gree from Delhi Univer­sity, as well as a Diploma in Mar­ket­ing from the Char­tered In­sti­tute of Mar­ket­ing in the UK.

With over 10 years of ex­pe­ri­ence in the hos­pi­tal­ity in­dus­try, she brings on board ex­per­tise in de­vel­op­ing strate­gies for driv­ing rev­enue through wed­dings and cater­ing, MICE, groups and tran­sient busi­ness seg­ments. Gon­salves is well net­worked with the Travel Trade, EMC and Cor­po­rate fra­ter­nity and joins the lead­er­ship role with the abil­ity to de­velop and nur­ture tal­ent un­der her.
