Kenichi Takano, Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor, Delhi Of­fice, JNTO, says, “The to­tal num­ber of ar­rivals from In­dia in 2016 were at 1,23,000 and in the first six months of 2017, Ja­pan has re­ceived 69,500 tourists. In­dia is our new mar­ket op­por­tu­nity. The av­er­age length of stay for over­all vis­i­tors to Ja­pan is 4-6 days; the amount of money they spend on an av­er­age is 1.4 lakh. The largest MICE group that we have had from In­dia so far was from the Lions Club (Group Size: 1200) in June 2016.”
