A Children’s Day double book bonanza
ON THE F&B RADAR
It’s raining titles for India’s kids. In a double bonanza, two Indian publishers used Children’s Day to announce the launch of their children’s imprints. Talking Cub (Speaking Tiger) and HarperCollins Children’s Books are ready with a bouquet of impressive author list. All-time favourites Ruskin Bond, Jerry Pinto and Ranjit Lal feature in Talking Cub’s inaugural line-up with others including Paro Anand and Arunava Sinha to follow, while Shashi Warrier, Gulzar and Bond will be seen in titles by the HarperCollins’ imprint. They will also be launching FLAP, a box series for age group four-12 years, which will be available from November-end. The boxes range from early learning sets that teach basic concepts such as the alphabet, numbers, colours and shapes. We hope this acts as inspiration for other publishers to follow suit. Let the bachcha (reading) party continue!
