Precautions against Jat stir bring Noida to near standstill

- OUR CORRESPONDENT

NOIDA: The effect of Jat agitation was felt in Noida, after the three major points in Noida were packed with vehicles for several hours. At the borders of Delhi and Noida, the traffic came to a standstill as the Delhi Police sealed the Updelhi borders on Sunday.

Slow vehicular movement was witnessed at all the three entry points as routes to Delhi from Noida were sealed by the Delhi Police as precautionary measures in the wake of Jats announcing that they would hold a march to the Parliament.

The Delhi-noida-delhi Flyway, Kalindi Kunj and New Ashok Nagar were among the routes blocked by the cops. At each of the points, cops inspected all heavy vehicles to avoid any unwanted penetration into the Capital.

During peak office hours of the day, Kalindi Kunj faced huge traffics snarls near the MCD toll booth and the under construction underpass. Even though it was a weekend, the traffic came to a standstill.

The police barricades along the MCD toll tax booth made the commuters angry as their vehicles stood frozen in the traffic.

Vehicles were lined up on Mahamaya Flyover-kalindi Kunj route before the MCD toll collection booth.

Usually, the route is packed with cars at peak hours, but in the wake of the Jat agitation, the same situation took an ugly turn on Sunday. Also, it took almost twice the regular time for commuters to cross the stretch.

The Noida Traffic Police through Twitter issued an advisory to all commuters of Noida and Delhi alerting them that as borders are sealed by Delhi Police all are advised to use other routes
