NEW DELHI: The famous blue Wagon R used by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been reported stolen - from right outside the government’s headquarters in the capital.

A blurred image of a man getting into the car was caught on security cameras installed outside the premises and driving it away. The car was used by party worker Vandana Singh for the past 2 years.

Vandana parked the car on Thursday morning when she came to the Delhi secretariat, but when she stepped out for some work at around 2:30 pm she found the car missing.

“I have been using the car for some time and when I came out on Thursday afternoon I found it missing. I have lodged a police complaint.” Vandana told Millennium Post.

The Blue Wagon R car was parked outside the Delhi secretariat near gate number 3. The police after receiving the complaint from Vandana has taken up the investigation and formed teams to arrest the accused.

“A man is seen in the CCTV getting inside the car at around 1 pm We are looking out for him.” said a senior police officer.

The Wagon R, gifted by an Indian living abroad, was dubbed the “AAP Mobile” and got plenty of mileage in the news when the Chief Minister used it to camp and sleep in during a controversial protest against the Delhi Police in 2014.

The blue car was used by the Aam Aadmi Party or AAP to demonstrate its commitment to fighting VIP culture and of standing with the common man. It was used by Kejriwal during his campaign for the first election he contested; it remained his vehicle of choice when he was first made Chief Minister.

Kejriwal, who has had many run-ins with the police, which reports not to his government but the centre, asked on Twitter about where it’s “dhyan” or attention is focused.
