Haryana govt to script film pol­icy, says CM Khat­tar

CHANDI­GARH: In or­der to make easy ac­cess for Bol­ly­wood in­dus­try and mak­ing Haryana a tourist hub, the state govern­ment an­nounced that it would make a film pol­icy. The Chief Min­is­ter Manohal Lal Khat­tar pre­sented draft of Haryana Film Pol­icy to Bol­ly­wood Ac­tor Raj Ku­mar Rao, who called on him on Thurs­day at Chandi­garh. While talk­ing to Mil­len­nium Post, Rao said that he would talk to his col­leagues in Mum­bai and would soon get back with its re­quire­ments.

“The CM has handed over the draft to me. I will speak about this with in­dus­try peo­ple and the pol­icy will be un­veiled very soon with our var­i­ous re­quire­ments. The Pol­icy would not only boost the film in­dus­try in the State, but also pro­mote the Haryanavi cul­ture world over," he af­firmed.

The New­ton star was in city beau­ti­ful as a spe­cial screen­ing for his film was ar­ranged for the Chief Min­is­ter and other of­fi­cials.

Rao who has played the role of New­ton in the film said, "It is a mat­ter of pride for me that the spe­cial screen­ing of my film 'New­ton' is be­ing done in Haryana." He stated that he him­self be­longs to Haryana, the land of tal­ented peo­ple, who have brought lau­rels to the State and the coun­try when­ever they got an op­por­tu­nity. "Peo­ple of Haryana are per­form­ing bet­ter in the film in­dus­try," Rao added.

While talk­ing about his film, he af­firmed, "The film gives a good mes­sage to the so­ci­ety as it is based on a story of bring­ing about a change in the sys­tem by re­mov­ing the short­com­ings and en­cour­ag­ing the peo­ple to dis­charge their du­ties hon­estly. In the film, the char­ac­ter of New­ton in­spires oth­ers to act hon­estly and ded­i­cat­edly."

About mak­ing a mark in Os­cars as of­fi­cial en­try, Rao lamented, "Its a big deal for us as film has been se­lected for Os­cars en­try from In­dia this year. We hope it will be able to grab the award."

About the se­lec­tion of his off­beat films the Gur­gaon lad said, "As an ac­tor I am lucky to get dif­fer­ent films. The sce­nario is chang­ing now and peo­ple want to watch dif­fer­ent and mean­ing­ful cin­ema."

About his fu­ture plans Rao stated, "I want to reach at a point where I can do only one film in two years,". He will be next seen in Fan­ney Khan along with Aish­warya Rai Bac­ch­han.
