2 sui­cides in Hy­der­abad: A dis­traught stu­dent and an NEET as­pi­rant

HY­DER­ABAD: Two girl stu­dents al­legedly com­mit­ted sui­cide by hang­ing in sep­a­rate in­ci­dents in the city, the po­lice said on Thurs­day.

The de­ceased are iden­ti­fied as Mounika (20), a fi­nal-year Btech stu­dent of a pri­vate col­lege, and a 17-year-old in­ter­me­di­ate sec­ond year stu­dent.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice, Mounika hanged her­self in the bath­room of her house last af­ter­noon in Su­raram Colony fol­low­ing an "ar­gu­ment" with her mother.

A so­cial me­dia post at­trib­uted to Mounika reads: "Nowa­days...i am afraid to be happy...i don't know y peo­ple don't want to look at me when I am happy in my life. Ev­ery mo­ment in my life is go­ing so worst...i am just pass­ing out through them...by learn­ing lessons from ev­ery­thing hap­pen­ing my life". A case was reg­is­tered un­der sec­tion 174 of CRPC in this re­gard, Dundi­gal po­lice sta­tion in­spec­tor Shankara­iah said.

In an­other in­ci­dent, the 17-year-old girl hanged her­self from a ceil­ing fan with stole in her hos­tel room in Mad­ha­pur area last night.

She was un­der­go­ing coach­ing for NEET for medicine at a pri­vate ed­u­ca­tional in­sti­tute, a po­lice of­fi­cial said, adding that the girl was taken to a nearby hospi­tal where the doc­tors de­clared her as brought dead.

A fam­ily mem­ber of the de­ceased said they didn't know why she took the ex­treme step.
