NEW BEAUTIES FROM MERCEDES BENZ FOR INDIA
Mercedes-AMG has launched not one but two powerful cars from its stable, the GT Roadster and the GT R in India with prices starting at ` 2.19 crore ` 2.23 crore respectively, to celebrate 50 years of the AMG performance brand. With these two new additions, Mercedes-Benz has expanded the AMG portfolio in India to 12 models.
The AMG GT R takes inspiration from the AMG GT3 racing car while the Roadster takes inspiration from the GT R to give dynamic performance at the very highest level that the AMG brand is known for. The Mercedes-AMG GT was rst-ever fully-developed product from the collaboration of the Mercedes-Benz and Affalterbach based AMG sports division of Mercedes. The AMG GT was followed by a faster AMG GT S and now a faster R is in the country, which is also known as the “Beast of the Green Hell” due to its green colour. Mercedes performed a speed run of the AMG GT R at the country’s only Formula One circuit – Buddh International Circuit. True to its name and performance, the GT R clocked the fastest ever lap time by a production car at the circuit, a time of 2 minutes and 09.853 seconds. The speed test was conducted by FMSCI the AMG GT R was driven on the track by AMG Driver Christian Hohenadel.
