Dur­ing labour, your pelvic floor mus­cles help to ro­tate your baby’s head into a good po­si­tion. Stud­ies have shown that ex­er­cis­ing these mus­cles dur­ing preg­nancy can shorten the early stages of labour. And it’s worth giv­ing them a work­out if you’re plan­ning to have a c-sec­tion too, as this will help the mus­cles re­cover from the strain of preg­nancy, post-birth.
