Mindfulness-a workshop for parents and professionals
MOM’S Belief and Taarika Foundation organised a workshop and panel discussion on ‘Mindfulness’ conducted by Dr. Leena Khanzode, Stanford Adjunct Clinical Faculty, and senior clinical leaders from Mom’s Belief. The seven-hour event taught participants how to manage stress and live in the present, with a special focus on children and teenagers. The objective was to enable parents and professionals who work with children to help their kids reduce stress and anxiety, manage their emotions and stay focused. Stress affects children just as it affects adults. Peer pressure, exam stress, relationships with peers and family members can all be a source of anxiety in children and teenagers. It can have a damaging effect on their health and interfere with schooling and social activity. Mindfulness helps kids and teens control their emotions and impulses, eliminate negative thoughts and improve concentration. Professionals, performers, athletes, business people and parents can also benefit from using mindfulness.
