A smart­watch with a month-long bat­tery life

Huami, a sub­sidiary of Xiaomi, has un­veiled its lat­est smart­watch, the Amaz­fit Bip, which has an im­pres­sive bat­tery life of up to 45 days when con­fig­ured for min­i­mal no­ti­fi­ca­tions.

The smart­watch has a screen size of 3.25cm (1.28 inch), a trans­flec­tive al­ways-on colour dis­play with a res­o­lu­tion of 176 x 176 pix­els, and is pro­tected with a 2.5D layer of Go­rilla Glass3. It fea­tures IP68 dust- and wa­ter-re­sis­tance, a sleep mon­i­tor, a PPG heart rate sen­sor, a tri-ax­ial ac­cel­er­a­tion sen­sor, etc. Apart from Blue­tooth 4.0, the smart­watch uses Xiaomi’s MI Fit

3.0 app to pair with an iPhone or any An­droid de­vice.

The most at­trac­tive fea­ture of the watch is its 190mAh bat­tery—when charged for 2.5 hours, it can last up to 4 months when used in watch mode.
