DOAA saves me­dia own­ers prop­erty tax

OAA has achieved land­mark suc­cess by can­celling the prop­erty tax ap­pli­ca­ble for out­door me­dia for­mat such as hoard­ings and build­ing wraps. With this, the bat­tle be­tween MCD and DOAA with re­gard to prop­erty tax has come to an end. The Hon­or­able High-court, Delhi an­nounced the de­ci­sion in favour of DOAA and Delhi based me­dia own­ers by can­celling the prop­erty tax ap­plied on dif­fer­ent for­mats like hoard­ings, build­ing wraps and etc by MCD. The nec­es­sary or­ders have been passed by the Court in Civil Writ no. 678/2013. The is­sue be­gan when MCD filed no­tices to the me­dia own­ers ask­ing for hand­some money in the form of Prop­erty Tax. How­ever, DOAA and me­dia own­ers op­posed this as they are al­ready pay­ing to MCD un­der the Ad­ver­tise­ment Rights and monthly Prop­erty Rent “Three years ago, I joined Mu­dra Com­pany and now I have left DDB Mu­dra. There­fore the learn­ing, ex­po­sure and ex­pe­ri­ence have been ex­tra­or­di­nary. We have han­dled huge valu­able clients and worked on var­i­ous chal­leng­ing projects”, says Vikas. Vikas han­dled var­i­ous clients namely TATA Mo­tors, Stan­dard Char­tered, Volk­swa­gen, Vogue, Fu­ture Group and many more.
