The project offers self-service password management and supports challenge-responsebased authentication. The product allows users on a Windows Active Directory based network to do a self service to reset passwords they’ve forgotten. They can do it without raising a help desk ticket. This self service feature increases user productivity and reduces load on the IT Helpdesk. The product supports XP and WIN 7 desktop OS and WIN 2003 Server and above on the OS side. The software also states to be making use of LDAP via the LDS API interface found in Active Directory. The password management module today supports Password Self Service for Active Directory, Web Based front-end, User ID and Password authentication, Challenge/Response Questions, and Forgot password. When asked about checks for weak passwords when users select a new password, Pritish Desai said that the software only works with organizational policies and rules that already exist. No additional checks are performed.
