Speaking with Perfect Sourcing, toshiyuki Yamanaka, MD, Juki shared information about the latest in technology as implemented in their company’s DDL-9000CSMS (Digital Type) sewing system with automatic thread trimmer. It is the world’s first sewing machine with a feed mechanism- driven both vertically and horizontallythat has been computerised. The feed mechanism changes its focus in accordance with the material. As a result, optimum adjustments can be achieved by simply inputting data into the operating panel. Furthermore, the vertically driven feed mechanism helps keep constant the length of thread remaining on the material after thread trimming.

The thread remaining at the end of sewing is reduced to a mere 3mm. A both-blade driven rotary knife system has been adopted. The knife intersects the thread to trim it just beneath the needle entry point. Since the knife ensures constant length of needle thread, the length of thread remaining on the material after thread trimming is, unlike thread trimming with the thread tensed, also constant. “In this machine, synchronisation will be better and can be changed many times and the seams are very fine, covering minimum stitch area thereby giving high efficiency,” he added.

He also shared that the response at the fair has been good and even though the market is slow at the moment, it will gradually get better. “At the moment everybody is preparing for GST regime and orders are stuck as players are busy modifying the business,” said Yamanaka. “There is no reason for India’s business going down and it has good capacity to give business like China,” he pointed out.
