Online Firm Tata Cliq Joins Hand with 10 Indian designers for “The Shawl Project
Tata Cliq has teamed up with ten Indian fashion designers to create a collection of special edition shawls in “The Shawl Project”. The Shawl Project, which will be available on Tata Cliq luxury’s e-commerce site on January 25, will feature ten shawls each created by a different Indian designer. The shawls will all use merino wool from The Woolmark Company, for which Tata Cliq is now the exclusive retail partner in India. The craftsmanship, techniques and designs that have originated in India have the ability to stay timeless despite the continuous evolution of the global trends. Nachiket Barve, who has created a monochrome shawl inspired by Kashmir’s Namda carpets for the project, said about the shawl: “It cuts across ages, sexes, sizes, even cultures. From Mongolian sheep herders to the poshest society women in New York, every community has a history of wearing shawls.” Barve’s design is reversible and he aims to appeal to a wide audience.
