HPP achieves COD of unit-I of its Anup­pur ther­mal power plant

Hin­dus­tan Pow­er­pro­jects suc­cess­fully achieved COD of unit-I (600 MW) of the first phase of its flag­ship 2520 MW Anup­pur ther­mal power pro­ject in Mad­hya Pradesh. The com­pany had signed PPA’s with the gov­ern­ment of Mad­hya Pradesh and Ut­tar Pradesh for 35% and 361 MW re­spec­tively ear­lier and im­por­tantly, the coal for the pro­ject is se­cured through a fuel sup­ply agree­ment with South Eastern Coal­fields. The to­tal ca­pac­ity of the flag­ship ther­mal plant is 2520 MW to be de­vel­oped in two phases of 1,200 MW (2x600 MW) 1,320 MW (2x660 MW).

Ratul Puri, Chair­man, Hin­dus­tan Pow­er­pro­jects said, “The coun­try needs to ramp up its energy gen­er­at­ing ca­pac­ity quickly to be able to meet the de­vel­op­men­tal agenda. This pro­ject will play a key role in ad­dress­ing power suf­fi­ciency in Mad­hya Pradesh and Ut­tar Pradesh.”
