“Rajasthan to regain its leadership position in solar rooftop segment”
At the Solar Net Metering event organised by the Rajasthan Solar Association (RSA) in collaboration with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and Rays Experts Pvt Ltd, Rakesh Kumar, Director, SECI, highlighted that Rajasthan is lagging behind other states in installing rooftop solar systems. Even though Rajasthan has over 300 days of sunshine, high demand and clear roof space in most industries; so far deployment of rooftop solar is far less than many other states.
“RSA will work with other stakeholders to regain its leadership position in solar rooftop domain,” said Suman Kumar, President, RSA. In a related development CM Vasundhara Raje inaugurating a 100 MW solar plant at Nandia Kalan village near Jodhpur set up by Azure Power said that the state will become a surplus-power state to the extent of 6,000 MW.
