progress in terms of is­suance of tar­iff or­ders.

How­ever, the tar­iff re­vi­sion re­mained mod­er­ate with all In­dia av­er­age tar­iff hike of 5% for FY2016 as against the 9% and 7% re­vi­sion seen in FY2015 and FY2014 re­spec­tively.

No­ti­fi­ca­tion of the UDAY scheme along with other key ini­tia­tives be­ing un­der­taken by the govern­ment of In­dia such as the In­te­grated Power De­vel­op­ment Scheme and ru­ral feeder sep­a­ra­tion and ru­ral elec­tri­fi­ca­tion pro­grammes un­der the Deen­dayal Upad­hyaya Gram Jy­oti Yo­jana have been pos­i­tive steps for the sec­tor.
