Wel­spun Re­new­ables com­mis­sions an­other so­lar project in Pun­jab

Wel­spun Re­new­ables has ex­panded it so­lar ca­pac­ity in Pun­jab by 4 MW (AC). The lat­est ad­di­tion comes close on the heels of its 32 MW (AC) Bhatinda so­lar project. Com­mit­ted to fa­cil­i­tat­ing Pun­jab’s green en­ergy tran­si­tion, the two projects to­gether will be an­nu­ally feed­ing 54.37 mil­lion units of clean en­ergy to the grid. Con­se­quent to this, Wel­spun will be off­set­ting 1,481,525 tonnes of CO2 emis­sions over the next 25 years.

Vi­neet Mit­tal, Vice Chair­man, Wel­spun Re­new­ables said, “We be­lieve that it’s our re­spon­si­bil­ity to help In­dia meet her de­vel­op­ment needs by in­te­grat­ing eco­log­i­cal sus­tain­abil­ity. Sus­tain­able de­vel­op­ment of the peo­ple can only be en­sured if we fo­cus on clean en­ergy and move away from pol­lut­ing en­ergy sources. With each project the or­gan­i­sa­tion com­mis­sions, we are help­ing the country move closer to meet­ing its clean en­ergy tar­gets.”
