India Rooftop Solar Congress
The second edition of India Rooftop Solar Congress was held at Hotel The Pride, New Delhi. Supported by India Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), CRISIL and JLL India, the event was attended by 150+ attendees, 40+ speakers, 10+ exhibitors and 30+ award winners.
The conference saw a large participation from government institutions, project developers, EPC players, rooftop owners, investors, bankers, lenders, consultant and garnered stupendous response from the all sections of the industry. Key policy makers and government bodies including Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), Central Electric Authority (CEA), Government of New Delhi, IREDA and many other government agencies attended the two-day event.
The inaugural session on policy and regulatory norms featured an eminent panel comprising of
Hiren Borah, Scientist, MNRE; Parag Sharma, COO, Renew Power; Rama Krishna S, Executive Vice President, Tata Power Solar; Gagan Vermani, Founder and CEO, MYSUN and Pranav Master, Associate Director, CRISIL among others.
The panelists briefed the audience about various initiatives and policy changes being considered by government agencies to fast track adoption of solar rooftop in India.
A special knowledge report was issued by CRISIL and was inaugurated by Pranav Master from CRISIL.
While launching the report, Master stated, “Rooftop solar in India currently stands at 1.1 GW and needs to grow 36-fold to reach the 40 GW target on time.”
Commenting on the same, Borah said, “40 GW target is huge, but achievable.”
During the two day meet, key speakers from Jinko Solar, Waaree Energies, REC Solar, Amplus Solar, Vikram Solar, PTC India, Deutsche Bank, JLL India, REC India, Hartek Power, Sterling and Wilson, Solar-Log, Cleantech Solar, Zoho Corp, Aureus Law Partners shed light on various issues. Key bottle necks, challenges and the way forward in engineering and design quality, finance and investment, technology for the long term, asset and portfolio management, commercial contracts were some of the major topics of discussion.
Jinko Solar, Waaree Energies, Hero Future Energies, CleanMax Solar were among the 21 leading solar rooftop companies that bagged awards at the India Rooftop Solar Congress Awards 2017.
