More Than Just Shopping

You can also dine, get in a bit of exercise and be entertained

You’ve spent the better part of a day or more com the Mall of America for bargains and you need a break. Stash your shopping bags in a nearby hotel (there are more than 50 within a ten-minute drive) and discover the Mall’s other attractions.

Jump on a ride at the amusement park inside the Mall. If you’re brave, opt for the Avatar Airbender. Not so brave? Try the Carousel. The Mal Sea Life Aquarium boasts more than 10,000 marin creatures from deadly sharks to stinging jellyfish. You can also see a movie at the Mall’s cinemas or get your funny bone tickled at Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy.

If you’re lucky, there may be a celebrity visiting the mall to perform or sign books. Past stars have included Shania Twain, Mariah Carey and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

If you’ve overindulged at the Mall’s restaurants, you can join the Mall walkers; once around each level is just about a kilometre. And for those who have fallen in love with (or at) the mall, they can get married at the Chapel of Love, like more than 6500 other couples have.

Avatar Airbender.
