Maharera gets additional charge of two union territories
The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MAHARERA) has been rendered with additional charge of two Union Territories of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. The central government has already sent a directive to this effect to the state government. According to an estimate of MAHARERA, there are around 800 on-going realestate projects in these two Union Territories. The authority has already started working on system on how projects from these two regions can be registered. The authority is also working on finalising the place of hearing for matters related to on-going projects from there. Maharashtra was one of the first states to notify its rules under the Act and establish MAHARERA which has received more than 12,000 applications for registration of on-going projects.
