Gujarat to finalise 425 town planning schemes
Chief minister Vijay Rupani launched a special drive to finalize 425 town planning (TP) schemes and simplifying procedures, at a meeting held in Gandhi nagar on Tuesday. The CM, who holds the urban development department, asked municipal corporations, urban development authorities and area development authorities to ensure a time-bound settlement of objections raised under the TP Act. It was also decided to complete recruitment of 70 junior town planners and immediate posting of 20 junior town planners. The government will also appoint senior town planners in municipal corporations of Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot. Senior town planners will be empowered to take quick decisions and convert the regional offices in Ahmedabad, Vadodadra, Rajkot and Mehsana into state offices.
