The visit of Susheel Ku­mar, Coal Sec­re­tary, Gov­ern­ment of In­dia to North­ern Coal­fields Lim­ited has con­cluded. Dur­ing his three-day visit to NCL, Shri.ku­mar re­viewed per­for­mance of the com­pany, in­spected mines and its op­er­a­tions and in­au­gu­rated var­i­ous new ini­tia­tives of the com­pany.

Soon af­ter his ar­rival on Satur­day evening, Shri Ku­mar chaired a ‘Review Meet­ing’ with higher ups of the com­pany. On this oc­ca­sion, Shri.ku­mar also launched ‘Pallav’, a monthly CSR news­let­ter of NCL.

Ku­mar in­au­gu­rated Coal Han­dling Plant (CHP) ex­pan­sion Phase III hav­ing ca­pac­ity to han­dle 5 mil­lion tonne coal per an­num in Ni­gahi Area, NCL. With the ad­di­tion, the coal han­dling ca­pac­ity of Ni­gahi CHP has now touched to 15 mil­lion tonne mark per an­num. Shri.ku­mar also in­spected ‘Kr­ishna’ dragline and re­viewed its op­er­a­tions. Later, Shri.ku­mar in­au­gu­rated ‘Min­i­mal In­va­sive Surgery Unit’ at Nehru Shatabdi Chik­it­salaya. The unit is equipped with the fa­cil­i­ties of la­paroscopy, or­thoscopy and hys­teroscopy. He also in­au­gu­rated ren­o­vated op­er­a­tion theatre and lauded main­te­nance and up­keep of hospital. Late in the evening, Shri Ku­mar in­ter­acted with rep­re­sen­ta­tives of trade unions, CMOAI, lo­cal ad­min­is­tra­tion, project af­fected per­sons (PAP’S), lo­cal res­i­dents and young of­fi­cers of NCL.

Be­fore his re­turn to Varanasi, Shri.ku­mar also vis­ited Bina and Dudhichua mines of NCL.

Through­out his three day visit at NCL, Shri Ku­mar was ac­com­pa­nied by Chair­man-cum-man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, NCL, Shri Ta­pas Ku­mar Nag, Di­rec­tor (Per­son­nel), Ms.shan­ti­lata Sahu, Di­rec­tor(tech­ni­cal/op­er­a­tions), Shri.gu­nada­har Pandey, Di­rec­tor (Fi­nance) Shri P.s.r.k.sas­try, Di­rec­tor(tech­ni­cal/project & Plan­ning), Shri.j.l.singh and Chief Vig­i­lance Of­fi­cer, Shri.ashish Ku­mar Sri­vas­tava.
