Di­vi­sional level Global Agritech Meets at Kota, Udaipur & Jodh­pur

Ra­jasthan gov­ern­ment signed a Mem­o­ran­dum of Un­der­stand­ing (MoU) with the Fed­er­a­tion of In­dian Cham­bers of Com­merce and In­dus­try (FICCI) for or­ga­niz­ing di­vi­sional level Global Ra­jasthan Agritech Meets (GRAMS).

The MoU was signed be­tween Direc­tor, Agri­cul­ture, Gov­ern­ment of Ra­jasthan, Am­br­ish Ku­mar and Deputy Sec­re­tary Gen­eral of FICCI, Vi­nay Mathur in Jaipur.

The MoU is for or­gan­is­ing three ‘GRAMS’ in the forth­com­ing fi­nan­cial year. They will be or­gan­ised at Kota (May 2017), Udaipur (Oc­to­ber 2017) and Jodh­pur (Jan­uary 2018).

The Direc­tor Agri­cul­ture said that look­ing at the huge suc­cess of the ‘GRAM 2016’ which was held in Jaipur in Novem­ber last year, the State had de­cided to or­gan­ise such events at the Di­vi­sional head­quar­ters as well.

Chief Min­is­ter Va­sund­hara Raje had also an­nounced the or­gan­is­ing of the di­vi­sional level ‘GRAMS’ in her bud­get speech.

As many as 30,000 farm­ers are ex­pected to at­tend each of these GRAMS. The pri­mary ob­jec­tive of these meets is to en­sure eco­nomic em­pow­er­ment of the farm­ers through ac­cel­er­ated yet sus­tain­able growth in agri­cul­ture and to dou­ble farmer’s in­come by 2022.

In ad­di­tion, the GRAMs will show­case global best prac­tices and best of tech­nolo­gies suited to the agro-cli­matic con­di­tions.

Dur­ing GRAM 2016, MoUs for huge in­vest­ment in agri­cul­ture and al­lied were signed. The state was ex­pected to get in­vest­ment over Rs 6,000 crore. Over­all the event had fo­cused on Farmer Em­pow­er­ment, show­cas­ing Agri-In­no­va­tions, Mar­ket­ing TieUps, JVs, Tech­nol­ogy Trans­fers, In­ter­na­tional In­vest­ments, Busi­ness Op­por­tu­ni­ties, En­cour­age Agri-based Re­search and Com­mon Plat­form for Agri and Al­lied Ecosys­tem.
