SNOGGED LIPS

Blurred, messy lips are the hottest trend on the global runway. They are a definite stand out and add an edgy touch to any look.

Get the look: Apply an even layer of liquid lip colour in a hue of your choice – the bolder, the better. Use a large makeup brush to buff it outside the lip line for that just-kissed effect. Add a little sheen by swiping some clear lipgloss over your lips.

TWO-TONED

Two-toned eyes are a big fav with celebrities and makeup artistes. It’s a fun, flirty and fresh way to up your look.

Get the look: Prep your eyes with a primer. Create a winged line on your upper lid with black eyeshadow. Line the lower lash as well. Use a blending brush to buff out the cat eye. Use a tapered crease brush to apply a brighter hue along the crease, overlapping with the smoky lid. Use a fluffy brush to blend out the colour. Apply the same shade to the lower lash line so that it overlaps with the black eyeshadow and blend the two.

TOPNOTCH! Elegant, classy and sophisticated, the braided top knot gives a classic look a funky edge.

Get the look: Take a section of hair from the front and clip it out of the way. Flip your head upside down and brush your hair down from the nape. Use a styling product that adds texture and grip if required. French braid the back section working from the nape to the crown. When you reach the crown, continue braiding for an inch or two. Unclip the front section and tie it with the braid into a high ponytail. Remove the elastic holding the braid. For volume, spritz it with hairspray (optional). Finally, smooth the outer layer of the ponytail and wrap into a bun. Use bobby pins to secure it in place. Ta-da!

BEAUTY SNOOZE

Sleep – the best way to relax, rejuvenate and unleash your natural beauty. The Om Supti Night Spa in the Maldives offers some old-fashioned REM therapy. Hidden away in a private jungle clearing, guests can enjoy a massage, facial, an al fresco soak in a bathtub of Himalayan salt crystals, sandalwood, jasmine and rose – all at night. All this before retiring to a swing bed for a night of blissful sleep. This ritual is designed to lull guests into a deep meditative state that banishes stress and promotes cell regeneration.
