Put yourself amidst a backdrop of glistening azure of the Indian Ocean and you’ll get a vacation in Maldives that is all about the island life—perfect for the rebellious spirit who loves nothing more than to bask in the sun on the pristine shores with the sounds of lapping waves. The ultra chic Malvika Sehgal Kaura shares her favorite part of the Maldives experience: packing tips for an island getaway, and a fashion trend she’s obsessed with at the moment:
The whole experience was unforgettable. My 2nd trip to Maldives hence I was better prepared. Needless to say, when I got to my cottage I was ecstatic! The most memorable experience was probably waking up first thing in the morning and walking on the sand into the beautiful, crystal clear waters.
The footwear was a pair of acrylic slippers.... Gold to bling it yet could get wet! Pretty feet are a must for me. These ones are from Aldo. And snorkeling shoes from Decathlon. These are useful in the island as you’re going to get sand in your feet! The Jewellery is from my collection! Acrylic, water resistant and light. I never wear precious Jewellery on such trips! Too much of a bother keeping track. The designs were either aquatic or blended with nature. My sunglasses were extremely covering to help prevent Sun damage! So when most got sun burnt at sea...i came back unscathed. Of course, the repeated sunscreen helps. These holidays are fun dressing up that I don’t have the time to do in Delhi. I do believe accessorizing is a big part of looking, and feeling good and I enjoy travelling doing so. It’s really about keeping the extra few minutes aside.
