It’s raining fashion

Ways to look chic during a downpour

It’s the season when the heavens are smiling down upon us and giving us an eagerly awaited respite from the oppressive heat and humidity.while most people rejoice, some of our very own fashionistas may wonder- what to wear, especially when it comes to footwear and accessories. The coming of rains does not mean wrapping oneself in a raincoat and stop dressing up. Rain or no rain, one has to always look fashionable and stylish. Looking dull and drab is simply not an option. In fact, rainy season is perhaps the time when one can have most fun with the clothes and accessories. All one needs to do is make the right choices and one can still make heads turn.

It is a time to bring out your shorts, skirts and a pair of stylish gum boots. Ankle length or knee length, they come in a wide range of colors and since they are made of rubber they are easy to wash and maintain.

We are lucky that a pair of sneakers are considered high fashion now and very cool to wear just about anywhere. Gone are the days when they were relegated to sport activities only or for walking. So a pair or two of sneakers are essential and easy to wear in the rainy weather.

Slippers and especially funky slippers are also a good idea to keep for casual outings. Crocs are also an option for casual wear. Since both are made of rubber these are a good choice.

Shoes and footwear in suede and leather etc are to be kept away till the season passes as they get spoilt easily.

Two very essential accessories are a nice foldable umbrella in funky patterns and vibrant colours, which can be carried anywhere, and second is a smart colourful raincoat in a great design and detailing, which looks very cool.these fit in a handbag easily and can be worn over just about anything.

A vibrant and waterproof sporty watch made of plastic or rubber, is another accessory you can flaunt during this weather.

Waterproof caps are also handy and protect your hair. Plastic or canvas handbags in waterproof material are though transparent, but adds a nice playful touch to the outfit

The rains are a gift from Gods, so we may as well look really good, while enjoying them.
