EAST­MAN KO­DAK sells its CCD im­age sen­sor busi­ness

True­sense Im­age Inc. bought the sen­sor busi­ness from Ko­dak, along with Ko­dak’s Build­ing 81 at East­man Busi­ness Park. Chris Mc­niffe, for­mer head of Ko­dak’s im­age sen­sor so­lu­tion busi­ness is now the CEO of True­sense. 200 Ko­dak work­ers were re­cruited in the new com­pany.

An­droid-based cam­era from Sam­sung?

Sam­sung has re­fused to con­firm re­ports on a ru­moured An­droid- based cam­era. The non- de­nial, which says ‘ it is some­thing we are mon­i­tor­ing,’ comes in re­sponse to re­ports from En­gad­get that stated that the com­pany is con­sid­er­ing an ‘open’ cam­era op­er­at­ing sys­tem.

Fu­ji­film de­vel­ops mod­i­fied sen­sor to fix X10 and X-S1

Fu­ji­film has re­leased a state­ment ex­plain­ing the causes of the ‘ white disc’ bloom­ing is­sue that af­fects cer­tain images shot taken with the X10 high- end com­pact. The state­ment says the com­pany is de­vel­op­ing a mod­i­fied sen­sor in re­sponse to the prob­lem, that can also af­fect the X-S1 pre­mium su­per­zoom. X10 and X-S1 own­ers ex­pe­ri­enc­ing ‘ the white disc phe­nom­e­non’ have been ad­viced to con­tact their lo­cal Fu­ji­film ser­vice cen­ter.
