5D Mark III or D800?

Smart Photography - - Ask Uncle Ronnie -

Which will be the better camera, the Canon EOS 5D Mark III or the Nikon D800?

N. S. Tiwari, Mumbai Let’s wait and watch. While both the models are ‘ high-end’, I think both are designed with different philosophies Canon seems to have opted for a ‘do everything’ model, while Nikon seems to have created a model for landscape/product photographers who want extra-ordinary detailing in their images. The 22.3 MP Canon can go up to 6fps ( good for wildlife and bird photography for example), and with a very large Buffer, while the 36.3 MP Nikon cannot do better than 4fps at full resolution and with a small Buffer. Landscape and product photographers generally do not need faster firing rate, while wildlife/bird action photographers need a higher firing rate. There is of course more to consider apart from what has been just mentioned, and hence, as I said, let’s wait and watch.
