esigning a space for a client who also happens to be an architect can be a challenging task. Such was the case with Interior Designer Anisha Modi of Anisha Modi Interiors while designing the ofce of an air-cooler company. Achal Bakeri, Managing Director of air-cooler company Symphony, specically sought a ‘functional, timeless and maintenance-free design’ for the corporate ofce in Ahmedabad. Not one to shy away from a good challenge, principal designer Anisha Modi came up with a simple and functional palette to meet Achal’s requirements.
Architecturally, the building is inward looking and has a central courtyard, which provides ample natural light to both wings of this four-storey, 30,000 sq. ft. building. A spacious reception area, administrative area and cafeteria are anchored on the ground oor; meeting rooms, an AV room and the R&D department with a lab is housed on the rst oor, while the marketing & sales, international business, factory staff and HR department are on the second oor. The third oor has the accounts department and reserved space for future expansion, and the fourth oor is reserved for the MD. This oor has a sprawling chamber for the MD, his personal staff and a boardroom.
