ith eateries mushrooming at every nook and corner in the capital city, restaurateurs have started employing newer ways to enhance the eating out experience. For his recent venture, Umang Tewari, Director - Big Fish Ventures (of OTB, Fork You, The Vault Cafe, Raas and Skooter fame) experiments with a Mexican theme for 3 Pegs Down.
Spread across an area of 6,000 sq. ft., this spacious restaurant has a ‘Tex Mex meets Wild West’ theme, replete with abundant use of wood right from the flooring to the ceiling. Complementing this is the bricked walls, which adds to the rustic feel. On discussing with Umang about how he went ahead conceptualising 3 Pegs Down, he shares, “This restaurant has a cover of 250 people. To create a place that’s different, we needed an innovative idea which originated from a brief understanding of people’s needs and uniqueness to launch a brand new concept in the market. Firstly, we worked on finalising a place and then designs were created to make best use of the space.” OCTOBER 2016 SOCIETY INTERIORS 209
