An Ode to Timber
Architect Russell Acton has designed the tallest contemporary mass wood building in the world. This 18-storied Brock Commons Tallwood House is built using timber, which has consistently proven to be most environmentally sustainable material in comparison to other building materials. This wood structure was completed at the rate of two floors per week, much faster than conventional construction methods. The main structure used glue-laminated columns and cross-laminated timber panels.
