Living in History
Architecture Building Culture has added a modern twist to a historic 1905 home in Beacon Hill, Seattle. THEY HAVE ADDED A WOODEN SECTION TO THE HOUSE, GIVING IT A trendier look and feel. The wooded section houses The Great Room THAT OPENS TO OUTSIDE VIA A 36 FT long window wall. The interior has an open plan — a kitchen, dining AND LIVING AREA, WITH A WALL OF wood cabinetry. Other than the addition of The Great Room, the project also includes a secondary kitchen or utility room, powder room, master bedroom suite with ROOF DECK, RENOVATED BEDROOMS and shared bathroom and IMPROVEMENTS TO THE ENVELOPE OF the existing house.
