Tree-ness House de­signed by Ar­chi­tect Ak­i­hisa Hi­rata is a com­plex build­ing con­sist­ing of mul­ti­ple houses and gal­leries built in Tokyo. The pro­ject, com­pleted in 2017, takes in­spi­ra­tion from trees. The de­sign team cre­ated an or­ganic ar­chi­tec­ture that could be formed by a hi­er­ar­chi­cal com­bi­na­tion of dif­fer­ent parts such as plants/pleats (as open­ings)/ con­crete boxes. The con­crete boxes are stacked fol­low­ing a three-di­men­sional pat­tern and the main struc­ture con­tains com­pli­cated voids. Plants are planted around the pleats, cre­at­ing an or­ganic en­vi­ron­ment. Bed­rooms and gal­leries are in­side the box and the out­side be­came ter­races and gar­dens. The place sur­rounded by glass is the liv­ing and din­ing room. This fu­tur­is­tic ar­chi­tec­ture awak­ens hu­man and an­i­mal in­stincts in which the in­side and out­side are re­versed mul­ti­ple times.
