CELEBRITY mac­ro­bi­otic nu­tri­tion­ist and chef, Shonali Sab­her­wal, en­sures ev­ery­one’s health, fit­ness and beauty this year with her lat­est book, The Detox Diet. Pub­lished by Pen­guin Ran­dom House In­dia, the book is a com­pi­la­tion of tips, recipes and full-length detox plans. Shonali spe­cialises in im­prov­ing im­mu­nity, re­mov­ing tox­ins, man­ag­ing weight, re­vers­ing the ‘leaky-gut’ syn­drome and other au­toim­mune ail­ments by first al­ter­ing the bio­di­ver­sity of the gut. With The Detox Diet, she en­light­ens us about how ev­ery­thing health-re­lated has its roots in the in­ner ecosys­tem and re­veals the se­cret to weight loss, anti-age­ing, beauty and auto-im­mune dis­eases. Af­ter two suc­cess­ful books in the past, The Beauty Diet and The Love Diet, we ask Shonali how she thought of writ­ing about detox­i­fi­ca­tion. “I was quite per­turbed by peo­ple, mostly women, do­ing these quick detoxes, and get­ting calls from women, who wanted to shed ki­los in a week to get into their biki­nis, etc, for a detox.
