All For A Cause!

GRAMMY AWARD winning music composer and conservationist, Ricky Kej, organised literary competitions for children last month at The Collection, UB City in Bengaluru, where children from age 13 onwards from different schools across the city participated in debates, quiz and art competitions focused on creating awareness about the environment, nature and conservation. The competitions, personally curated and presided over by Ricky Kej himself, were held as a prelude to the RoundGlass Samsara Festival 2017—an Environmental Summit, Film Festival, Concert and Art Exhibition. Children from various schools in the city took part in this three-day lit-fest. The winners, apart from trophies and certificates, will also have the opportunity to speak/present their art to renowned names from the field of science, politics, administration, art and conservation at the RoundGlass Samsara Summit and Art Exhibition that will take place in October. Ricky Kej, who is the man behind the RoundGlass Samsara Festival, said, “It is my humble attempt to bring together global leaders, decision makers and of course, the people of the city to promote the importance of environmental consciousness and conservation. It is important that today’s youth, who are the decision makers of the future, understand the significance of protecting the environment if future generations are to be preserved on this beautiful planet.” That’s quite a huge responsibility on Ricky’s shoulders.
