Tell A Tale Over Tea

Society - - PRIVILEGED INFORMATION -

CONVERSATIONS over coffee is so passé. It’s time for tea to take over! Renowned tea sommelier and founder of the brand Radhikas Fine Teas & Whatnots, Radhika Batra Shah, recently conducted India’s first ever Live Tea Ceremony at Yauatcha, Mumbai. An impressive list of distinguished guests were privy to an intimate session of introduction to the finer nuances of tea by Radhika. From renowned director-writer Ritesh Batra to actor Shakti Khurana, from marathon runner Girish Mallya to food blogger Bhavin Shah, Radhika took everyone on a beautiful tea-ride— rom the gardens to the teacup. She described each tea leaf, be it white, green, oolong or black teas, its plucking, the process involved and the benefits through sampling of each. What caught our attention was that each leaf was complemented with the perfect kind of food item—like dim sums, sticky rice and turnip cakes. Radhika also informed the tea-lovers on brewing and ways to infuse tea into recipes and also tea-tips for face, eyes and skincare! Radhika has taken her tea passion to a new level with her newly launched e-commerce website radhikasfineteas.com where one can get the finest teas delivered straight to their doorstep. It also has a unique feature of a Tea Finder that helps in finding the perfect leaf as per one’s mood and food preferences from a wide range of more than 50 teas from India, China, Greece, Sri Lanka and Turkey. Smells tea-licious!!
