After Sarabhai vs Sarabhai Take 2 opening to a large viewership and falling straight on its face owing to a weak storyline and inadequate treatment, Hotstar has dared to lay its bets on reviving another classic of Indian television – Khichdi. Unfortunately, this one’s also met with the same result. Except for the lovable characters, who keep their signature tactics intact, nothing in this Khichdi will keep you streaming. It goes without saying that the first season of the show, which was aired on TV in 2005, was much more likeable than the new season online. It mainly goes haywire with its revamped version as it doesn’t fit the viewership bracket.
