Farah Khan Ali In­au­gu­rates Glimpz 2014 At IIGJ Mumbai

The In­dian In­sti­tute of Gems & Jew­ellery (IIGJ), Mumbai held the Glimpz 2014 ex­hi­bi­tion of jew­ellery col­lec­tions de­vel­oped by the eighth batch of grad­u­at­ing stu­dents of its diploma in jew­ellery de­sign and man­u­fac­ture tech­nol­ogy.

The ex­hi­bi­tion was in­au­gu­rated by Farah Khan Ali, creative head of Farah Khan Fine Jew­ellery. She was joined by IIGJ chair­man Vas­ant Me­hta, IIGJ Tardeo con­vener Namita Pandya, IIGJ ad­vi­sory board con­venor Pra­bir Chat­ter­jee, and di­rec­tors of the in­sti­tute Praveen Shankar Pandya, Nir­mal Ku­mar Barmecha, San­jay Kothari, and Colin Shah.

Ev­ery year, the three-year course cul­mi­nates with a grad­u­at­ing project dur­ing which the stu­dents cre­ate col­lec­tions of jew­ellery on par­tic­u­lar themes. This year, the stu­dents were asked to work on the theme “Pratico”, which means prac­ti­cal in Ital­ian.
